Here is my 2005 Mustang GT in race trim. I run Saleen 18X9 wheels with Nitto 255/45/18 tires front and Saleen 18X10 wheels with Nitto 295/45/18 tires rear for extended street driving. For distances about 200 miles or less, I will drive as pictured above. The whipple supercharger is at 16 psi boost, but with only 15 degrees total timing at WOT so I can run 91 pump gas. Still a street car as I have driven 174 miles to Barona Raceway, raced Saturday and Sunday, then drove home 174 miles. I would not hesitate at all to drive this car from Los Angeles to Las Vegas just as it sits.
In race trim, I put on the 15X4 Bogart wheels with Moroso 28X4.50 tires front, and 15X9.75 Bogart wheels with M&H 325/50/15 drag radials rear. I add Sunoco 104 octane gas, and change to the race tune which has 23 degrees total timing at WOT. Car puts down 577rwhp and 519 rwtq. Car weighs 3776 with me in it. I could make the car lighter, but its still a street car!
Engine was built by Adam at ST Motorsports in San Bernardino, CA. Cobra iron block, forged cobra crank, scat rods, and JE pistons. Engine still runs the stock heads and stock cams. The heads do have better manley valves (intake and exhaust) however. Helping the whipple breathe at 16psi is the custom ST Motorsports intake, a 1600 cfm black diamond throttle body, and a custom ST Motorsports sheet metal intake for the back of the supercharger.
Battery has been moved to the trunk. I also installed a 7 gallon water tank that I fill up with ice at the track. This makes a huge difference in intake air temps--plus I can put extra weight right over the rear tires.
Above my center console is my gauge set up. AEM wideband, boost gauge, and two Aeroforce Interceptor gauges. The Interceptor gauges can be set to cove a number of different parameter through the cars OBDII port. Right now I have them set at coolant temp, intake air temp, trans temp, and knock sensor. I also have four switches, the top left one I use for my line lock. I need to find a boost gauge that matches the Interceptor gauges.
